About Us

CTI was started in 2000 by Jerry Thompson and Bob Rizza who at the time were putting together packaging programs for companies that involved multiple materials.  With Jerry’s background in structural design and Bob’s background in print, they developed the best packaging solution for the project based on the restrictions (or requests) of the client or retailer.  In 2007 Bob Rizza retired from the packaging arena and CTI’s customer needs grew into contract packaging. By the end of a busy 2007, CTI leased a building in South Bend, Indiana to accommodate the assembly and blister sealing of various products and Dave Sult became the plant manager in Indiana.  In 2012 CTI saw the need to expand into the food market and acquired the certifications necessary to package and handle food. In 2014 CTI purchased a larger building in Bristol Indiana and we haven’t stopped growing and learning since. CTI keeps up with its customers’ needs and grows along with them!

Plant certifications include SQF, 21CFR111, Organic, and Kosher.

Industrial Management

I have a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management all while being a huge Tree Hugger.  I am a very green person when it comes to protecting our environment and my experience in the packaging industry has reflected that, constantly evolving to be the greenest solutions. I began work in the packaging industry in 1992 and soon fulfilled a vision of branching off on my own and creating my own contract packaging company.  Although I began with a singular focus in packaging (electronics), I have successfully expanded and grown into virtually every corner of the packaging world.  Since I started CTI in 2000, I am constantly thinking of what CTI can do next to make the company better at servicing our customers while developing our most important asset – our employees.  I think with the right culture a company can achieve the impossible! My advice to business owners new and old is never stop learning, never stop changing and never stop dreaming.
